Van Morrison - Over 60 and still rocking!
In August 1945 a baby was born in Belfast Ireland, which would grow to be one of the musicians twentieth century's most influential century. George Ivan Morrison behalf of their parents, "Van the Man" by his fans, and more commonly by Van Morrison music lovers worldwide, the "baby" now in a little over sixty-two, and their music are still going strong.
Playing a variety of instruments, including the keyboard, saxophone and harmonica played in various bands until he found fame knocking on his door when his rhythm and blues band Irish "they" released in 1964 (ironically, released as the B side of "Baby, Please Do not Go!"). Three years later, would be "Brown Eyed Girl" that would lead to an even higher level, but this time solo. "Brown Eyed Girl", a song that is considered synonymous with Van Morrison, who has been cited in lists of top 100 best songs - and in 2007 was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. However, Van Morrison remains adamant that because of a contract signed without professional advice, has never won the royalties for this song. Another of the songs from Morrison has achieved greatness is the title track of his 1970 "Moondance" album. Although released as a single seven years after the release of the album, the sound sophisticated "Moondance" has made an excellent choice for singers Michael Buble. Many of the songs of Van Morrison has also appeared in film soundtracks over the years.
Despite its public appeal, and how his music is closer to its fans, Van Morrison himself is not one of world music most extravagant celebrity. In fact, while suffering of serious stage fright prevented him from performing live for a time in the 1970s. Since regaining its confidence in the stage that has played in front of so remarkable Then people like U.S. president Bill Clinton and concert halls around the world filled with thousands of fans. It is also foreign to television appearances and appeared Jay Leno as a final customers before their show was moved to prime time in May 2009.
One of the things that makes it so popular Van Morrison is his ability to mix musical genres. Most artists stick within a particular genre and that is the foundation of their fan base. But Van Morrison comes across genres, mixing their native Celtic sounds with blues, folk, rock and roll, and even pop. Consequently, his music reaches a broad audience that spans generations.
Although Van Morrison does not rotate, it does continue to play live, so if I have not seen it yet, make sure you get a ticket next time, in your area!
