Bestselling author of America, Lawrence Sanders was born on March 15, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York but raised in the Midwest. He attended Wabash College in Indiana He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism in 1940. After returning to New York, Lawrence enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from United States 1943-1946.
Lorenzo took a variety of jobs including writing and editing for several magazines, including Science and mechanics. Several mysteries of their stories were published in the journal Swank in 1968-1969.
In 1970, at the age of 50, Lawrence Sanders first novel, The Anderson Tapes, was published and won Edgar Award for best mystery novel in the first place. This award is a coveted and most prestigious award information from the Mystery Writers Association.
Lawrence Sanders went on to write fiction full time. With Anderson tapes, we are introduced to Edward X. Delaney, a tough New York researcher. Other characters Lawrence Sanders Archy McNally series are, Timothy and Peter Cone Tangent. Then there are the protagonists Commandment, Dora Conti, Samuel and Joshua Todd Bigg.
Also of his series, Mr. Sanders wrote 15 novels before publishing separate his memoirs, The Sins of Lawrence Sanders in 1984.
Lawrence Sanders died in Pompano Beach, Florida on February 7, 1998. There was some controversy regarding its Archy McNally Series. Who really wrote the first books? Will Sanders and Vincent Lardo write books together? Was the real author Vincent Lardo? Or, was it (as suggested), commissioned by Lorenzo Sanderís goods to advance in writing.
