What is the square foot cost to build housing? I'm sure every builder Veteran has heard this question many times. Indeed, only one set can be given. There are too many variables to give a fair price based on square feet. These variables range from design, materials used and size.
How is the square footage calculated? Does the garage, basement, what happens to rooms that are cathedrals or high? I have seen these questions answered differently by many builders and their marketing departments.
The design itself is a huge factor with a ranch house to be the most expensive multi-story homes that offer the lowest by dividing the base and roof of costs by the number of stories. With construction materials are available for most builders, square or box-shaped house has the highest ratio of floor space for the area of exterior walls.
